29 CFR 1926.28(a): Appropriate personal protective equipment was not worn by employee(s) in all operations where there was exposure to hazardous conditions: a) Naval Station Norfolk, Building 332 Child Development Center, Norfolk VA 23504: On or about January 11, 2018, and times prior thereto, the employer did not ensure that an employee that sprayed Portland cement with water to make mortar wore appropriate personal protective equipment, such as goggles, as referenced by 1926.102, exposing the employee to potential eye injury. CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION.

29 CFR 1926.404(f)(6): The path to ground from circuits, equipment, or enclosures was not permanent and continuous: a) Naval Station Norfolk, Building 332 Child Development Center, Norfolk VA 23504: On or about January 11, 2018, and times prior thereto, the extension cord used by an employee to supply power to equipment such as a Utilitech Pro portable work light, did not maintain a continuous path to ground due each missing a ground pin. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.

The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
