Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method is to perform frequent and periodic inspections as required by ASME B30.16-2007 - OVERHEAD HOISTS, Section 16-2.1.2 and 16-2.1.3. Inspections include, but are not limited to, controls and operating mechanisms for improper operations; safety devices for malfunction; deterioration or leakage in air systems; and, deformations, chemical damage, or cracks in hook.
