On or about January 18, 2018, in the paint spray booth, the employer had not developed and implemented a written respiratory program for painter employees required to wear a tight fitting respirator during painting operations while exposed to paint and solvent vapors containing hazardous chemicals, including, but not limited to: Trim-Methyl Benzene, Toluene, Xylene, Ethyl Benzene, Acetone, Methanol, and aromatic hydrocarbon solvents. On or about January 18, 2018, in the production shop, painting employees required to use tight fitting air purifying respirators as protection from vapors of hazardous chemicals such as, but not limited to Tri-Methyl Benzene, Ethyl Benzene, Toluene, Xylene, acetone, and methanol were not trained to understand the respiratory hazards, the importance of proper fit, correct usage, proper maintenance and cleaning, storage, or recognition of medical symptoms that could limit effective use of respirators.
