29 CFR 1910.132(a): Protective equipment, including personal protective equipment for eyes, face, head, and extremities, protective clothing, respiratory devices, and protective shields and barriers, were not provided, used, and maintained in a sanitary and reliable condition wherever it is necessary by reason of hazards of processes or environment, chemical hazards, radiological hazards, or mechanical irritants encountered in a manner capable of causing injury or impairment in the function of any part of the body through absorption, inhalation or physical contact: a). On or about 1/25/18, on site, for employees using the 16Fl.OZ. can of GasGacinch to glue grippers onto the racket handles. The Gasgacinch contains chemicals, such as, but not limited to, Toluene. The employees use a small brush to apply the glue onto the racket handle. Employees use the glue approximately 3 minutes for each racket. Employees use the glue 20-30 times a day. The employer did not conduct an assessment to provide the proper PPE such as nitrile gloves and safety glasses.
