Chavez, Kansas City, Missouri, employees were exposed to struck by hazards in that employees operated a pneumatic nail gun and powered saw without wearing eye protection.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems.  At a jobsite located at 499 Avenida Cesar E. Chavez, Kansas City, Missouri, employees were exposed to fall hazards in that an employee was working from a balcony lacking guardrails, fall protection or fall arrest systems.  Employees were exposed to a fall distance of up to 16.5 feet.

Chavez, Kansas City, Missouri, employees were exposed to fall hazards in that an employee was working from a balcony lacking guardrails, fall protection or fall arrest systems, and employees were working from aerial lifts. Training addressing the hazards of and procedures for working at elevations were not provided to employees.
