29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): When portable ladders were for access to an upper landing surface, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface to which the ladder is used to gain access: a) Front of 260 Main St., East Longmeadow, MA: On or about February 1, 2018, two employees were observed using a single ladder at two separate places at this location that did not extend 3 feet past the upper landing surface as egress from an unprotected excavation and from inside the protective system at this excavation. Specific abatement documentation that this violation has been corrected must be provided within 10 days of the abatement in accordance with 29CFR1903.19(d)(1).
