29 CFR 1910.178(l)(1)(ii): Prior to permitting an employee to operate a powered industrial truck (except for training purposes), the employer did not ensure that each operator has successfully completed the training required by this paragraph (l), except as permitted by paragraph (l)(5). a) Facility: On February 1, 2018 and at times prior thereto the employer had not developed a formal powered industrial truck program to ensure that all operators were provided with consistent training, timely evaluation and certification on truck related and workplace related topics. Employees operated a Kalmar AC forklift with an Abaco forklift boom attachment to handle various sized slabs of granite, quartz, and marble weighing approximately 600 to 1200 pounds. Note) Certification of corrective action is required for this item.
