29 CFR 1910.151(c): Where employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use: (a) On or about February 8, 2018, the employer did not ensure that employees working with or near a 55 gallon drum of Car Brite Hot Stuff, a liquid mixture containing sodium hydroxide, an eye and skin corrosive, had unobstructed access to an eyewash where the eyewash was blocked by a handcart and located in an area where obstacles prevent immediate access. (b) On or about February 8, 2018, the employer did not ensure that employees working in the detailing bay with Car Brite Caustic Alkali Liquid, containing potassium hydroxide, a skin and eye corrosive, had access to an eyewash where the quick drench station was obstructed by a garbage can and had no water in it for flushing. 29 CFR 1910.1200(f)(5): The employer did not ensure that each container of hazardous chemicals in the workplace was labeled, tagged, or marked with the identity and appropriate hazard warnings regarding the chemicals contained therein: (a) On or about February 8, 2018, the employer did not ensure that a spray container of Dawn Ultra Antibacterial Apple Blossom Dishwashing Liquid containing amine oxides, phenoxyethanol, and chloroxylenol, eye irritants, was not labeled in accordance with OSHA's Hazard Communication requirements. (b) On or about February 8, 2018, the employer did not ensure that a 30 gallon container of Rugged Windshield Wash 20 Pre-Mix, containing methanol, an acute toxicant and teratogen, was labeled in accordance with OSHA's Hazard Communication Requirements. Abatement note: Abatement certification and documentation is required for this item (See Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet). The employer, Bob Penkhus Mazda at Powers, Inc., was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 960554, citation number 1, item number 3a and 3b, and was affirmed as a final order on 3/31/2014, with respect to a workplace located at 7455 Test Drive, Colorado Springs, CO.
