OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fall hazards: On or about February 16, 2018, at the Southwest Airlines ground operations at the Tampa International Airport, employees were exposed to falls of 61 inches while loading and unloading cargo from aircraft cargo compartments. Specifically, a 27-inch section of belt on the Power Stow Beltloader accessed by employees was unguarded on either side, resulting in fall hazards. Feasible abatement measures include extending the existing handrail to close the 27-inch gap.
