29 CFR 1910.107(c)(5): Electrical equipment not specifically approved for locations containing both deposits of readily ignitable residue and explosive vapors was located in a spraying area, whereon deposits of combustible residues may readily accumulate, except wiring in rigid conduit or in boxes or fittings containing no taps, spices, or terminal connections. 1) On February 22, 2018, and at prior times, electrical equipment in the spray booth were covered in deposits of paint overspray in the following instances: a) a light switch and an electrical outlet that contained terminal connections; b) florescent light fixtures that were not covered or otherwise approved for locations containing readily ignitable residue and explosive vapors.
