29 CFR 1926.100(a): Employees working in areas where there is a possible danger of head injury from impact, or from falling or flying objects, or from electrical shock and burns, shall be protected by protective helmets.     a. On or about March 01, 2018, at the above referenced jobsite, employees were required to work as ground crew / clean-up while roofers were installing steel roofing material on a residential structure. Employees were not required to wear hard hats and thereby exposed to struck-by hazards from falling/flying debris.       There is no abatement certification or documentation required for this item.

29 CFR 1926.416(a)(1): No employer shall permit an employee to work in such proximity to any part of an electric power circuit that the employee could contact the electric power circuit in the course of work, unless the employee is protected against electric shock by deenergizing the circuit and grounding it or by guarding it effectively by insulation or other means:     a. On or about March 01, 2018, at the above referenced jobsite, employees were required to work in close proximity to an electrical service drop while installing steel roofing material on a residential structure. Employees were thereby exposed to electrical burns / shock.      There is no abatement certification or documentation required for this item.

Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system unless another provision in paragraph (b) of this section provides for an alternative fall protection measure.     a. On or about March 01, 2018, at the above referenced jobsite, employees installing roofing material at a height of approximately 8' were not protected from falls. 29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1): The employer shall provide a training program for each employee who might be exposed to fall hazards. The program shall enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and shall train each employee in the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards.     a. On or about March 01, 2018, at the above referenced jobsite, each employee engaged in roofing activities on low-slope roofs, with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels, were not trained in the use / purpose of fall protection systems or the recognitions of hazards associated with fall protection requirements.     Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
