29 CFR 1910.138(a) as required by 29 CFR 1960.8(b): The employer did not select and require employee(s) to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands were exposed to hazards such as those from skin absorption of harmful substances; severe cuts or lacerations; severe abrasion: On or about February 28, 2018, the employer did not require machine shop employees to use gloves when handling Kester lead alloy solder wire during soldering activities. Employees were exposed to skin contact and ingestion hazards that could result in skin sensitization or neurological effects.

29 CFR 1910.1025(l)(1)(i) as required by 29 CFR 1960.8(b): Employee(s) working in an area where there is potential exposure to airborne lead at any level were not informed of the content of Appendices A and B of 29 CFR 1910.1025: On or about February 28, 2018, the employer did not inform all employees who perform job task such as soldering of the contents of Appendix A and B of 29 CFR 1910.1025. National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard 29 CFR 1910.1025(l)(1)(i), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1165315, notice number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on August 26, 2016, with respect to a workplace located at 6930 Sand Lake Rd, Anchorage, AK 99502.

29 CFR 1910.1200(g)(1) as required by 29 CFR 1960.8(b): Employers did not have a safety data sheet in the workplace for each hazardous chemical which they use On or about February 28, 2018, the employer did not ensure safety data sheets were maintained and readily accessible to employees for chemical such as, but not limited to lead, tin, modified resin and silver which are contained in Kester Lead Alloy Solder. Employees were exposed to inhalation, ingestion and skin contact hazards that could result in health effects such as fertility damage, skin irritation, or neurological effects.
