29 CFR 1915.152(a): The employer did not provide or ensure each affected employee with the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) for the eyes, face, head, extremities, torso, and respiratory system, including protective clothing, protective barriers, personal fall protection equipment, and life saving equipment, meeting the applicable provisions of Subpart I, wherever employees were exposed to work activity hazards that required the use of PPE. a) Norfolk Naval Station Pier 7: On or about 02/28/2018, an employee stepped on and off an unguarded extended platform approximately 12 feet above water without a personal floatation device. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
