General-duty citation text
29 CFR 1910.305(e)(1): Cabinets, cutout boxes, fittings, boxes, and panelboard enclosures in damp or wet locations were not installed to prevent moisture or water from entering and accumulating within the enclosures. In wet locations the enclosure was not weatherproof: a) In the scullery/garbage disposal/tray conveyor area - On or about March 5, 2018, at the above located workplace employees were required to work with and around a 208 Volt, 3 phase, garbage disposal control box that had a cover which was not properly sealed and an unused opening in the side of the control box. The garbage disposal control box with the unsealed cover and the unused opening in its side was unsuitable for the wet and/or damp location. Employees were thereby exposed to electrical hazards. b) In the scullery/garbage disposal/tray conveyor area - On or about March 5, 2018, at the above located workplace employees were required to work with and around a flexible conduit that was disconnected from a 120 volt food tray conveyor drive motor. The lack of a proper connection would allow water to enter the motor and made the equipment unsuitable for the damp and/or wet location. Employees were thereby exposed to electrical hazards.
