29 CFR 1910.242(b): Compressed air, that was not reduced to less than 30 p.s.i., was used for cleaning purposes without effective chip guarding and personal protective equipment:  a) 60 inch slitter banding table: Compressed air that was set at 60 psi was used for cleaning pieces of metal from bands of coils without the use of personal protective equipment, on or about 3/6/18.  b) 60 inch slitter banding table: Compressed air that was set at 60 psi was used to clean pieces of metal from bands of clothing off of employee's clothing, on or about 3/6/18.   NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.

29 CFR 1910.303(g)(2)(i): Except as elsewhere required or permitted by Subpart S of Part 1910, live parts of electric equipment operating  at 50 volts or more were not guarded against accidental contact by use of approved cabinets or other forms of approved enclosures or by any of the means identified in paragraphs (A), (B), (C), and (D) of 29 CFR 1910.303(g)(2)(i):    a) Shipping department: The electrical panel operating a downender machine that operated at 240 volts and 30 amps was not covered to protect it against accidental contact, on or about 3/6/18.

NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
