OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to additional bodily harm or potential permanent disabling injuries that could result from the employer not providing decontamination and not notifying emergency medical services: Silver-plating Room: On or about 2/16/18, while performing maintenance work on the silver-plating line scrubber involving exposure to cyanide, an employee was exposed to hazards resulting from the delay in the use of decontamination procedures and professional health care services. Among other methods, feasible and acceptable means of abatement include, but are not limited to: Train employees to perform decontamination immediately after an employee is exposed to cyanide in order to prevent further exposure. Train employees to call 911 immediately after an employee experiences cyanide poisoning in order to reduce the delay in the administration of professional treatment.
