29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.652(c): At the jobsite located at or near the intersection of Parkridge Ave and Parkridge Dr in Lees Summit, Missouri: Employees engaged in work in an excavation were exposed to a struck by hazard. The employer did not provide or require the use of benching, sloping, shoring or other means to ensure that employees working in the excavation were protected from excavation wall failure. The trench was approximately 14 feet in depth, and approximately 24 feet wide.
