Workers were observed installing shingles on a residential style construction site (house) without utilizing fall protection. The workers were exposed to falls of over 9 feet to the ground below. This was most recently documented at 12632 Timberridge Dr. Papillion, Nebraska on or about March 27, 2018 when the employer had employees working on the roof of this residence without any form of protective system.

29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Were portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed: The employer is failing to ensure employees are protected from fall hazards while utilizing portable ladders as part of re-roofing operations. Workers were observed climbing up a portable extension ladder which did not meet the elements of this standard. The ladder did not extend three feet above the upper surface being accessed by the employees on this site. The workers were exposed to falls of over 9 feet to dirt and concrete below. This was most recently documented at 12632 Timberridge Dr. Papillion, Nebraska on or about March 27, 2018 when the employer had employees working on the roof.
