29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: The employer is failing to protect employees from the hazards associated with lacerations, broken bones and potential amputations. This was most recently documented at 13434 Centech Rd. Omaha, Nebraska on or about March 27, 2018 when an employee was clearing a jam in a wire stripping machine and removed the guard exposing their fingers to the point of operation. As the worker reached in the machine to remove the jam from the point of operation, the employee struck the activation button cycling the machine and it pinched the employees finger causing an amputation.
