29 CFR 1910.132(b): Where employees provide their own protective equipment, the employer did not assure its adequacy, including proper maintenance, and sanitation of such equipment.    a)  Welding Area - On or about March 29, 2018, the employer did not assure that the protective clothing required to be worn by employees performing welding operations was properly maintained (e.g., not contaminated with oil).  In addition to employer provided flame-resistant sleeves, employees assigned the task of welding are required to wear their own protective clothing that is one-hundred percent (100%) cotton.  A welding employee sustained a severe burn injury to the upper left arm as a result of the protective clothing worn catching fire while welding.
