Section 5(a)(l) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of being struck by crane loads and parts. On or about April 6, 2018 on the south side of the facility two jib cranes were installed too close to each other and had the potential to collide.

29 CFR 1910.28(b)(8)(ii): The use of a fall protection system was required for a repair pit, service pit, or assembly pit that was less than 10 feet (3 m) deep, because the employer did not apply floor markings at least 6 feet (1.8 m) from the edge of the pit in colors that contrast with the surrounding area; or places a warning line at least 6 feet (1.8 m) from the edge of the pit as well as stanchions that were capable of resisting, without tipping over, a force of at least 16 pounds (71 N) applied horizontally against the stanchion at a height of 30 inches (76 cm); or placed a combination of floor markings and warning lines at least 6 feet (1.8 m) from the edge of the pit; and On or about April 6, 2018, in the manual machine area where employees were exposed to fall hazards while working near an open pit without fall protection or applying floor markings or warning lines at least 6 feet from the edge of the pit.
