29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1): The employer did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present, or are likely to be present, which necessitate the use of personal protective equipment (PPE): Employees performing frame work at the production area at Christensen Lumber, Inc., 20300 W. 207th St., Spring Hill, KS, were exposed to hazards such as, but not limited to struck-by hazards to the eyes while using pneumatic nail guns without adequate eye protection. The employer did not perform a workplace hazard assessment to determine if hazards were present in the workplace, and the personal protective equipment necessary to protect employees.
