29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: (a) Colorado Premium Foods, at 2035 2nd Ave., Greeley, CO 80631: On and before May 2, 2018, the employer did not ensure that one or more methods of machine guarding was provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by the point of operation, ingoing nip points, or rotating parts. The employer did not ensure that the ingoing nip points and rotating sprockets on the white conveyor belt system were guarded against accidental contact by employees working in the areas. This condition exposed employees to amputation hazards.
