29 CFR 1926.701(b): All protruding reinforcing steel, onto and/or into which employees could fall, was not guarded to eliminate the hazard of impalement: (a) On or about April 4, 2018, R. J. Gleeson LLC, as creating employer, did not ensure that employees of PJ Welding LLC, subcontractor, were protected from impalement hazards on uncapped rebar at the northeast corner of the concrete slab, the fire riser room area. RJ Gleeson bent the mat rebar up to work in the dirt under it and did not cap the rebar. Welders worked above the uncapped rebar. Abatement Note: Abatement certification is required for this item (see enclosed "Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet").
