29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) Thomas Food International - Packing area: The employer did not install a guard on one side of the cartoner machine to protect employees from crushing hazards from the rotating arts and pinch points on the machine, observed on or about 05/08/2018. b) Thomas Food International - Band saws area: The blade of the Meat cutter band saw, machine #400, S/N 400-M4-06 was not guarded while employees were cutting meat and bone, employees were not using a guard or any other methods to prevent their fingers from getting close to the point of operation, observed on or about 05/08/2018.
