This condition potentially exposes employees to chemical irritations to eyes, respiratory, and skin and inhalation hazards.

29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employees were not provided effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area: (a) Misty Robotics at 2450 Frontier Ave, Suite 101 in Boulder, CO: On and preceding May 31, 2018, Misty Robotics did not provide employees with effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment, and whenever a new physical or health hazard the employees have not previously been trained about is introduced into their work area. The employees use of chemicals such as, but not limited to solders, glues and Bestine (Heptane). This condition potentially exposes employees to chemical irritations to eyes, respiratory, and skin and inhalation hazards.

29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1): The employer did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present, or are likely to be present, which necessitate the use of personal protective equipment (PPE): (a) Misty Robotics at 2450 Frontier Ave, Suite 101 in Boulder, CO: On and preceding May 31, 2018, Misty Robotics did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present, or are likely to be present, which necessitate the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Employees conducted operations which included exposure to hazardous nonionizing radiation and flying particles. Hazardous operations included, but are not limited to the following: 1. Exposure to Class IV carbon dioxide laser's non-ionizing radiation; 2. Exposure to flying particles when processing acrylic or plastic materials; and 3. Exposure to solder and glues while assembling the robot prototypes.
