29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system: a) Jobsite: On May 6, 2018 and at times prior thereto employees installed backer rod and chinking on a log cabin. The employees worked on the exterior side walls OF the cabin while standing on a 6 in 12 pitched metal porch roof. No fall protection system was used. This exposed the employees to falls ranging from 10 feet up to 16.5 feet to the ground below. Note) Certification and documentation of corrective action is required for this item.

29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1): The employer did not provide a training program for each employee potentially exposed to fall hazards to enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards: a) Jobsite: On May 6, 2018 and a times prior thereto employees performed backer rod and chinking activities while walking and working on a 6 in 12 metal pitched roof. A personal fall protection system was not in place. The employees did not recognize or acknowledge the hazards of not using the appropriate fall protection system.
