29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employee(s) provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501 (b): a- 137 - 18th Street, Shipbottom NJ: On or about 05/31/18, a company employee was exposed to fall hazards in excess of 10 feet to the surface below when working at the unprotected edges of a residential structure's balcony and when working from atop pitched roof trusses without the use of any fall protection. NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM, FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.

29 CFR 1926.503(a)(2): The employer did not assure that each employee exposed to fall hazards was trained by a competent person qualified in the areas specified in 29 CFR 1926.503 (a)(2)(i) through (viii) a- 137 - 18th Street, Shipbottom NJ: On or about 05/31/18, a company employee was exposed to fall hazards in excess of 10 feet to the surface below when working at the unprotected edges of a residential structure's balcony and when working from atop pitched roof trusses without the use of any fall protection. At the time of the inspection, these employees had not received fall hazard recognition and minimization training from a competent, qualified person. NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM, FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
