Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system unless another provision in paragraph (b) of this section provides for an alternative fall protection measure.   On and about June 21, 2018, employees were exposed to falling while framing the roof system when they were working from the top plates of interior wallls and the bottom chords of trusses when the fall protection systems used would not prevent them from hitting the floor in the event of a fall.
