29 CFR 1926.20(b)(2): Such programs shall provide for frequent and regular inspections of the job sites, materials, and equipment to be made by competent persons designated by the employers. On June 27, 2018 located on the west side of an exterior commercial structure, employees were exposed to a fall hazard performing work on a parapet wall as there were no frequent and regular inspections being performed by a competent person to ensure the job-site, materials and equipment such as fall protection systems and/or devices were being maintained and utilized in a safe condition. The potential fall height was measured to be 22 feet. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence, or written records.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): "Unprotected sides and edges." Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level shall be protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. On January 25, 2018 located on the west side of an exterior commercial structure, employees were exposed to a fall hazard while performing work on a parapet wall while not utilizing any fall protection system. The potential fall height was measured to be 22 feet.
