29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels was not protected by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, or an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501 (b), nor did the employer demonstrate that it is infeasible or creates a greater hazard to use these systems and develop and implement a fall protection plan which meets the requirements of paragraph (k) of section 1926.502: At a jobsite located at 4920 SW Marguerite Street, Blue Springs, Missouri (Lot #37), employees were exposed to serious fall hazards in the following instances: a) Employees were standing on a section of the building approximately 11 feet high while moving trusses from the forklift to the sections of the building being framed. No fall protection system or plan was in place to protect employees from fall hazards at the edges of the building or around stairwells. b) Employees working on and walking through the interior of the building were exposed to fall distance of approximately 11 feet in that there were unprotected floor edges above the basement of the structure. Irwin Construction Co LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard (1926.501(b)(2)(i)), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1131231, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on (3/31/16), with respect to a workplace located at 3908 NE Independence Ave. Lees Summit, Missouri.
