29 CFR 1926.501(b)(11): "Steep roofs." Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected from falling by guardrail systems with toeboards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. At the commercial construction site located at 9641 N. Ambassador Drive in Kansas City, Missouri: Employees were exposed to fall hazards. Roofers were observed moving shingles and working at height. Roofers were exposed to a fall distance of greater than 20 feet eave to ground without use of fall protection.
