29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employee(s) provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501 (b): On or about July 8, 2018, at the subject job site, the employer failed to ensure that its employees were protected from falling while performing roofing operations on a steep roof. Employees were exposed to fall hazards from approximately 25 feet. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d).

29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1): The employer shall provide a training program for each employee who might be exposed to fall hazards. The program shall enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and shall train each employee in the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards. On or about July 8, 2018, at the subject job site, the employer failed to adequately train its employees in the safe use of personal fall arrest systems to minimize fall hazards. Employees were exposed to fall hazards from approximately 25 feet while not understanding the safe application of provided fall arrest/fall restraint systems. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
