(a) The employer failed to ensure a fire watch was provided during welding operations that occurred approximately three feet from an area that Methyl Ethyl Ketone(MEK), a flammable liquid was in use.

29 CFR 1910.252(c)(11)(i): In the use of cleaning materials, because of their possible toxicity or flammability, appropriate precautions, such as manufacturers instructions were not followed by the employer:  (a) The use of MEK which is a highly flammable solvent was being used in or around approximately three feet from open flames which goes against the manufactures instructions.
