29 CFR 1926.651(i)(1): Where the stability of adjoining buildings, walls, or other structures was endangered by excavation operations, support systems such as shoring, bracing or underpinning was not provided to ensure the stability of such structures for the protection of employees: a. At the site, employees were exposed to a struck by hazard, in that, during a 10 inch water pipe installation in a trench about 4 feet deep, a concrete structure about 4 feet by 10 feet through which the piping protruded was not supported when the soil was removed from a 2 foot section under the concrete slab, on or about 07/02/2018.
