29 CFR 1910.134(c)(1): A written respiratory protection program that included the provisions in 29 CFR 1910.134(c)(1)(i) - (ix) with worksite specific procedures was not established and implemented for required respirator use:    a) Britt Industries, Inc.,  Arlington Heights, IL- On July 13, 2018, the employer did not develop and implement a written respiratory protection program, when respirators were required, that included the following provisions in 29 CFR 1910.134 (c)(i)- (ix), as applicable, for employees  required to use Sperian half mask respirators with filters/cartridges and exposed to paint particulates while performing powder coating operations in the paint booth.    The program must be administered by a suitably trained program administrator as well as include an established standard operating procedures for selection and use of respirators in the workplace; medical evaluations of employees required to use respirators; fit testing procedures for tight-fitting respirators; procedures for proper use of respirators in routine and reasonably foreseeable emergency situations; procedures and schedules for inspecting, discarding or otherwise maintaining respirators; training of employees in the respiratory hazards to which they are potentially exposed during routine and emergency situations; training of employees in the proper use of respirators, including putting on and removing them, any limitations on their use, and their maintenance; and procedures for regularly evaluating the effectiveness of the program.    In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).

29 CFR 1910.134(e)(1): The employer did not provide a medical evaluation to determine the employee's ability to use a respirator, before the employee was fit tested or required to use the respirator in the workplace:    a) Britt Industries, Inc., Arlington Heights, IL- On July 13, 2018, the employer did not provide medical evaluations for employees required to use Sperian half mask respirators while powder coating to determine their ability to use the respirator.    In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).

In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).
