29 CFR 1910.22(a)(3): Walking-working surfaces were not maintained free of hazards such as sharp or protruding objects, loose boards, corrosion, leaks, spills, snow, and ice: a) On or about July 17, 2018, employees working in and around the forklift battery charging/changing area were exposed to a tripping hazard in that the track for the overhead crane located by the emergency eye wash station extended into the walkway and had a stop welded to it which protruded up approximately 2.5 inches. b) On or about July 17, 2018, employees working in and around the forklift battery charging/changing area were exposed to a tripping hazard in that the track for the overhead crane located in the corner by the entrance to a stairway extended into the walkway and had a stop welded to it which protruded up approximately 2.5 inches.

29 CFR 1910.178(g)(8): Trucks shall be properly positioned and brake applied before attempting to change or charge batteries: a) On or about June 26, 2018; an employee working in the forklift battery charging/changing area was exposed to a crushed-by hazard in that the forklift truck had been positioned into the aisle and not within its parking box painted upon the floor which did not allow the clearances necessary to accommodate changing of the battery.
