29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(i): Point of operation is the area on a machine where work is actually performed upon the material being processed. a) On or about July 12, 2018, an employee suffered the amputation of the tips of their left ring finger and left little finger while performing work using the company's Pexto Foot Squaring Shear. The employer had not assured that the shear's point of operation was guarded.
