29 CFR 1926.1101(g)(8)(i): For jobs removing vinyl and asphalt flooring materials which contain asbestos or for which buildings constructed no later than 1980, where the employer did not verify the absence of asbestos containing material pursuant to 29 CFR 1926.1101(g)(8)(i)(I), the employer did not ensure that employees complied with work practices described in 29 CFR 1926.1101(g)(8)(i)(A) through (g)(8)(i)(I) and that employees were trained in these practices pursuant to 29 CFR 1926.1101(k)(9):  a) 600 Church Street, Vehicle Maintenance Facility, Norfolk, VA 23501: On or about June 12, 2018, and times prior thereto, employees removed approximately 20' x 12' of floor tile and mastic in an office and additional flooring materials in an adjacent office, with a mechanical chipper (without a negative-pressure enclosure) and broom to dry sweep, where the mastic contained up to 10.87 percent chrysotile asbestos, exposing employees to potential health hazards of asbestos.  Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
