29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a working/walking surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet ( 1.8m ) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. (a) An employee performing roof and gutter repairs on a low pitch roof next to an exposed edge, was not protected from falling to the lower level. This exposed the employee to a fall hazard of approximately 13 feet six (6) inches on south side of the structure.
