Date of Violation: On or about 08-02-2018 and times prior thereto, located at U.S. Postal Service at 10509 Patterson Ave. Richmond, VA 22328, Condition: Employees were exposed to falling parcel that was received on improperly stacked or displaced palletized delivery shipments from an Amazon contractor without the use of personal protective measures preventing or protecting employees from the struck-by hazards. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employee(s) and their representatives were informed of this abatement.

29 CFR 1910.303(b)(1): Electrical equipment was not free from recognized hazards that were likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: Date of Violation: On or about 08-02-2018 and times prior thereto, located at U.S. Postal Service at 10509 Patterson Ave. Richmond, VA 22328, Condition: Employees were exposed to electrical hazards from a "Dayton" 24 inch circulation two-speed electric metal fan motor that had electric wires protruding from a hole without chaffing protection from sharp edges and no strain relief. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employee(s) and their representatives were informed of this abatement.

The United States Postal Service was previously cited for the same violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard OSH ACT of 1970, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1272602, citation number 1, item number 4 and was affirmed as a final order on 05-09-18, with respect to a workplace located at U.S. Postal Service - Denbigh Station Newport News, VA.
