29 CFR 1926.451(g)(1): Each employee on a scaffold more than 10 feet (3.1 m) above a lower level shall be protected from falling to that lower level. Paragraphs (g)(1)(i) through (vii) of this section establish the types of fall protection to be provided to the employees on each type of scaffold. On August 8, 2018, an employee was exposed to falling from a scissor lift while standing on the guardrails of the lift while bracing trusses.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(15): "Walking/working surfaces not otherwise addressed." Except as provided in 1926.500(a)(2) or in 1926.501 (b)(1) through (b)(14), each employee on a walking/working surface 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected from falling by a guardrail system, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system. On August 8, 2018, and employee was exposed to falling while climbing on wood trusses without any form of fall protection.
