29 CFR 1926.21(b)(2): The employer did not instruct each employee in the recognition and avoidance of unsafe condition(s) and the regulation(s) applicable to his work environment to control or eliminate any hazard(s) or other exposure to illness or injury: a. On or about August 8, 2018 at the rear of John H. Woodson Junior High School. An employee who was manually feeding plywood to a table saw (Bosch 4100 SN# 60113-0470) was exposed to a laceration hazard as his hand came close enough to make contact with the blade on that saw which was unguarded at the time. That employee had not received training required to recognize and avoid this unsafe condition. NOTE: Certification and documentation of abatement is not required for this citation item as abatement was documented by the compliance safety and health officer during the inspection.
