29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): Types of guarding. One or more methods of machine guarding shall be provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. Examples of guarding methods are-barrier guards, two-hand tripping devices, electronic safety devices, etc.     a) On or about August 14, 2018, the six laminator machines did not utilize a guarding method that would prevent employees from getting caught in the pinch points created by rotating drive wheels and moving parts.       b) On or about August 14, 2018, on the feeder end of the six laminator machines, employees were exposed to ingoing nip points while feeding trim into the machines.       c)  On or about August 14, 2018 on laminator #106 the position of the light curtains did not effectively prevent employee access to pinch points created by rotating drive wheels and moving parts.    Deceuninck North America, LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1012455, citation number 1, item number 3 and was affirmed as a final order on January 13, 2015, with respect to a workplace located at 351 N. Garver Rd. Monroe, Ohio 45050.
