29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1): The employer did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present, or are likely to be present, which necessitate the use of personal protective equipment.  Date of Violation: On or about 08-14-2018 and times prior thereto, located at U.S. Penitentiary Lee, Federal Bureau of Prisons 777 Hickory Flats Rd. Pennington Gap, VA 24277, Condition: Employees were potentially exposed to correctional institution work place violence hazards without adequate personal protective equipment.  Federal Bureau of Prisons identified a need and a requirement for the use of stab-proof protective vests.   Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date.  The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employee(s) and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
