29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.652 (b) or (c): a) 37061 N. Hwy 27, Haines City, FL; On or about August 14, 2018 and at times prior thereto, the employer exposed employees to cave-in hazards in that employees were allowed to work inside a trench measuring 6.1 feet deep, 3 feet wide, and 30 feet in length that was dug in Class C soil with the excavation sloped at an angle of 84 degrees. The employer did not protect their employees from cave-in hazards by utilizing an adequate protective system.
