OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): OSH ACT of 1970 Section 5(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to struck-by hazards: On or about 8/22/2018, throughout the warehouse facility located at 1634 Tobacco Road, Augusta, GA: Employees exposed to a struck-by/crushing hazards from the commercial/industrial bay doors observed with defects and deficiencies such as but not limited to missing and broken track rollers, metal panels not completely installed, and door panels bent off track. Some of the bay doors identified at the time of the inspection were Numbers 2, 4, 9, 10, 11, 15, 18, 19, 26, 27, 29, and 30. During the inspection bay doors operated failed to function properly due to defected and non-functional parts and components. Among one feasible means of abatement would be to follow the applicable requirements in the Standard for Safety American National Standard Institution ANSI/CAN/UL 325:2017, Door, Drapery, Gate, Louver, and Window Operators and Systems.
