Employees weld on valve housings using Inconel wire that contains a high chromium content.

29 CFR 1910.1200(e)(1): The employer did not develop, implement, and/or maintain at the workplace a written hazard communication program which describes how the criteria specified in 29 CFR 1910.1200(f), (g), and (h) will be met:  a) The employer did not develop, implement, and/or maintain at the workplace a written hazard communication program which describes how the criteria specified in 29 CFR 1910.1200(f), (g), and (h) will be met.  Employees are exposed to chemical hazards in their daily operations such as welding consumables in the weld department, paints and blasting media used in the paint department, and metal working fluids used in the machining department.  Some of the items of a written program that were not in compliance includes improper labeling of spray bottles and availability of GHS compliant Safety Data Sheets.

29 CFR 1910.22(a)(1): All places of employment, passageways, storerooms, and service rooms were not kept clean and orderly and in a sanitary condition.  (a) The eating and break area was not kept clean of chemical dust contamination.  The bottom of the delivery chute in the food vending machine contained dust contaminated with cadmium.
