29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: This violation was observed on or about August 23, 2018, in the shop, the Johnson Hi-Speed horizontal band saw did not have the unused portion of the saw blade guarded exposing employees to being struck by the blade.

29 CFR 1910.243(c)(3): Safety guards were not used on machines known as right angle head or vertical portable grinders that have a maximum exposure angle of 180 deg. This violation was observed on or about August 23, 2018, in the shop, such as, but not limited to, the DeWalt portable grinder, Model DWE402E, was missing the safety guard exposing the employee to struck-by hazards.
