The employee was working from a pallet supported by the forks of an all-terrain forklift, exposed to a fall hazard of 9 foot 2 inch fall.

Note to paragraph (b)(2)(v): As of January 1, 1998, subpart M of this part (1926.502(d)) provides that body belts are not acceptable as part of a personal fall arrest system. The use of a body belt in a tethering system or in a restraint system is acceptable and is regulated under 1926.502(e). a. Corrosion Resistance work site located on the Bell Avenue bridge in Elyria, OH: On or about August 23, 2018, the employer did not ensure an employee working from an aerial lift while performing paint touch up work, was wearing fall protection when working from the lift. The employee was exposed to a fall hazard of 11 feet 5 inches to the roadway.
